Estimates
- there are many reasons why a clock stops running. I can make a preliminary
visit to a clock in situ, or it can be brought to my Arundel workshop, for
a detailed health check. It may require a service, some repairs, or full restoration.
I provide a free estimate of all costs.
Servicing
is important to keep the clock in good working order and to minimise wear and
damage. It also helps to maintain the financial value of the clock. Servicing
involves dismantling the mechanism, checking each component for wear and tear,
cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and testing. A clock should be serviced at
least every four years.
Repairs
to a clock are usually needed if it has been neglected and wear and corrosion
have set in. Some parts may have to be re-made.
Restoration
involves skilled workmanship and professional knowledge and experience. I pay
attention to every detail necessary until I am satisfied that the clock is
running as is should. All work is fully guaranteed.
